I, along with my wife, have been doing Yoga under the expert guidance of Vipul. Our sessions started at 7am and continued till 9am, which is an extremely invigorating two hours of Yoga. These sessions were three days a week.
Having tried several other yoga instructors, I can say Vipul is one of the most professional yoga teachers that you will find in Mumbai. It is because of his help that we have had very regular sessions without any breaks. He has precise and unambiguous communication skills which have helped us understand the meaning of Yoga in its true sense.
I have an engineering background and have been a disbeliever of Yoga for a good 30 years of my life. My wife had tried me to convince but I always refused. Finally she had Vipul meet me and after a very frank and honest discussion with him, we both started our yoga journey. I had been aware of two health issues (stiffness in upper back - cervical pain and lower back pain) and my expectation was to do Yoga to correct them. Also, my body was pretty rigid, for eg, I could not touch my feet with my hands while standing and keeping my legs straight.
I could have done yoga seeing videos on youtube also or under any other instructor. However Vipul really makes a difference. When I was making my attempts at doing simple yogasanas, Vipul assessed my breathing pattern, weaknesses and limitations. Based on that, he prescribed asanas which would build me gradually. Another way he made a difference by ensuring that my asanas are strictly synchronized with my breath. Other instructors and videos (obviously) totally failed to ensure that synchronization which is extremely important. Vipul really takes up the role of a Guru in ensuring that his students do it right rather than letting them do the way they feel good.
I would say doing Yoga without a Guru like Vipul is like driving without wearing seat belts. You definitely feel good when you're not wearing seat belts, but the practice may lead to more harm than good.
In just four months, the results have spoken a lot. In my life, hardly anything has changed except that I have started doing Yoga. My cervical and lower back have not pained since. An observable difference is in the flexibility - I can touch my feet and do complex twisting asanas, all while being at ease. Most recently, I also feel an urge to do Yoga if I have not done so during the day because of my schedule.

Using his engineering background to explain the scientific side of yoga makes the learning process more meaningful.
He has deep knowledge in the subject. But more important, he can make it simple for beginners like me to understand and appreciate. This ensures that I am not really going through the motions of a physical exercise.
